Song Analysis

To Get to Song Analysis:  
·     Click 7-Day Reports from main menu bar.
·     Select the 7 Day period you wish to review (default is through yesterday). 
·     Click Song Analysis (under Song Analysis column)
 
To locate a particular song:
1. Select Title (type song title in bar) or Artist (type artist/band name in bar)
2. Select a filter option:
   - Show All Songs (default)
    - Currents/Recurrents
    - Gold
3. Click GO.

Click GO beside Browse by Artist.
 
Available Filter Options: 
Artist:
- Starts With: Allows for typing in only partial Group/Artist names including First Names
- Contains: Artists must match beginning of text typed in
 
Search for:   Enter all or part of the Artist's name
      
Show:
- Show All (brings up all songs within Mediabase active play detections)
- Currents (will bring up only current songs)
- Current & Recurrents (up to 1 year old)
- Gold (will bring up songs that have been out approx. 1 year or longer)
 
You can also locate an artist by clicking on an individual letter of artist last name or band name on the alphabet displayed under the Song Analysis header (this brings up all Artists starting with selected letter) or by selecting a letter from the Artist list box.
 
After selecting an artist, song titles will be brought up in far right box.  Click a song title to view the 7 Day Song Analysis report.  

Song Analysis Report Options:
·  You may select “Artist History” on the far left to view that artist’s song history information on all formats.  The songs are sorted by Total Spins.
- Clicking on each individual song title will result in a “Song History” report, listing station, market, market rank, current format, spins to date, dayparts, 1st played dates and total audience details.

Select from the following report options listed in the drop-down menu on the right side of page:

1 Day: See Daily Song Analysis for details.

7 Day: Lists all stations playing the song within last 7 days, broken down by individual station and total spins.  See below for details.

7 Day Exec Summary: Can also be viewed at the bottom of the 7-Day Report.

Building: Build chart through week based on specified number of days.  The default is R&R week (Sunday 12:00 AM through the following Saturday 11:59 PM).  See 7 Day Chart description below for viewing options.

Quickview:  Provides summary information on a particular track by format, promo rep and station, giving date, spin, daypart and audience totals.

Not Playing:  Lists stations that have not played that particular track in the last seven days.

Year To Date: See Year To Date for details.

Song History: Lists all stations with spin detections to date, regardless of format, initially sorted by station with most spins, with a grand total at the bottom of the report. The report can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking on any blue column header.
- Click on station call letters to view historical data (total plays, first played, daypart information) for song at the station selected.
- Click a format to show only stations within that format.

Market History: Lists the Song History on a market-by-market basis. Information is available to sort by market, by station, by spins, by daypart, by audience, by first played, and more.

The song history report also contains:
- Format History: Total spins of this song listed by format.
- Percent of Total Play - Compares listed formats to each other
- Spins to Date - Total for each format
- Spins By Daypart - Total spins per daypart for each format
- Peak Plays - Highest number of plays for each format
- Peak Week - Date of most airplay for each format

Group Owner History: Total spins by Group Owner and subtotaled by Format.
- % of Total Play - in the format listed
- Spins to Date - Total spins in that format
- First Played - Date first played in that format

Artist History:  See above

12 Week History:  Shows a particular track’s spins from the last 12-week period, broken down by station, market, format, total spins and week-by-week spins.

7-Day Song Analysis Details:
Lists all stations playing the song within last 7 days, by station and total spins sorted by most spins for this week (TW), regardless of Format or Group Owner.
Filter Options:
- You may run the report for the past 1 to 7 days (default is Past 7 days).  
- Default is All Owners, but you may select a specific Group Owner.
- Default is All Formats, but you may select a specific Format.
- Default is Show Stations With 0+Spins-This Week; you may choose up to 50+Spins-This Week.

Available headings: (Click on any blue column header to sort in ascending or descending order) New - Stations with new spin detections from past 7 days (TW) that did not appear in previous 7 days (lw)

- Click the graphic next to call letters links to the 12-Week Airplay Trend graphs for song at station.

Call Letters - Click call letters to view Station Playlist.

Market - Click Market to view 7-Day Market Playlist.

Format - Click Format to view the 7-Day Song Chart for all songs in the selected format.

Spins - Click the number of spins, under TW, lw or +/- to view 7 Day Spin Grid (spins by broken down by day and hour) for the past four weeks for the selected station.

By Daypart - Lists total spins for each time of day:
ovn (Overnight spins 12 – 6 a.m.),
am (AM drive spins 6 – 10 a.m.), 
mid (Midday spins 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.),
pm (PM drive spins 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.),
eve (Evening drive spins 7 p.m. – 12 a.m.). 

Historical Data (click below for Daypart Info) -  Click either date or total spins to view Song History (total plays, first played, audience and daypart data) for song at selected station.

7 Day Executive Summary:  Snapshot view of song, broken down by format, totaled at bottom.  Provides current 7-Day and previous 7-Day airplay and historical information for any song in the Mediabase database.  

Mediabase 24/7 Current Airplay Information:
Rank LW -  Last Week Chart position in each respective format
Rank TW - Current 7-Day Chart position at each respective format
Specific Format - Totals for each format monitored
Spins TW - Total spins for each format over current 7-Day period
Spins LW - Total spins for each format over previous 7-Day period
Spin Trend - Comparison of spins Last Week to spins This Week.
% of Play - Increase or decrease spin percentage
Stations Playing - Total number of stations in each format playing the song
Aud Millions- Total Arbitron Audience in millions for past 7-Days.

Historical Information:
Spins to Date - Total Number of spins at each format to date
Arb Aud To Date - Total Arbitron Audience to date
Peak Date - Date of highest chart position and number of spins
Peak Spins - Highest number of spins to date
Peak Chart - Highest chart position to date

7 Day Group Owner Summary: The final section of 7-Day Report is the Group Owner Summary,  broken down by Group Owner/Format.  The report reads (left to right):

% of Total Spins - by specific Group Owner (7 days)

% of Total Audience - Arbitron count in millions

Group - Click on a Group to view 7-Day Song Analysis for this Owner (all formats).

Format - Click on a Format to view 7-Day Song Analysis for this Owner and format.

Spins TW - Total spins this week for this Owner

Spins lw  - Total spins last week for this Owner

Move - Net difference between this week spins vs last week spins

Stations Playing - Total stations within Group Owner playing song

Average Spins/Station - Average Spins per Station for this Group Owner

Audience - Total Arbitron audience to date

Spins to Date - Total spins to date

Overall Totals - (bottom column) lists totals for all Group Owners/All Formats

Additional Options:
- This report may be viewed for the past 1 - 7 days.  (Default is Past 7 Days)
- You may select a Group Owner by clicking the list under All Owners (default).
- You may select a format by clicking list under All Formats (default).

Additional Viewing Options dropdown allows the following choices:
Return to Main Layout (initial default page)
- Spins broken down by Dayparts and Historical Data, by station

Hide Executive Summary

Hide Group Summary

Show Day-By-Day Plays - Spins broken down -1 through -7 days, by station (replaces Daypart info)

Show Arb Aud and Format Comparison: Average spins by format and how individual station spins +/- compares to format average

Show Market Ranks: Resort based on station market rank (highest to lowest)

Show Promo Reps:
- After clicking on option, top center will show RECORD LABELS, scroll down, highlight applicable label and click.
- Cookie stores label - Next time page is viewed, the label will automatically be selected.
- Spins for an individual promo rep can be brought up by either clicking rep name under Rep Summary (Rep including all stations/formats) or Overall Rep Detail (Rep with spins broken down by format)

Hide Rep Summary

View Multiple Formats: Displays all station within request format(s)
- After selecting View Multiple Formats, click on requested format boxes

View Song History: Lists all stations with detected spins, sorted by most plays to date.  Click on date to resort by first/most recent station playing the track.

Show Airplay Trends: Graphs for all formats where plays have been detected for song; also includes 52-Week Airplay Trend graphs

Download to spreadsheet options: Creates an Excel spreadsheet with a click
